Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill - Cambria, CA

Resuming our Californian vacation...
The beautiful ocean view across the street from Moonstone Beach restaurant.
As my family and I were driving up the pacific coast highway from Los Angeles to Monterey, CA we needed a place to eat lunch so we randomly choose Moonstone Beach  - sort of half way point south of San Simeon, near the Hearst Castle.
The manager was nice enough to take
a picture with Charles (left) and I outside
the restaurant.  Everyone at the restaurant

was as nice as the manager.

Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill is conveniently located just off of Highway 1/ Cabrillo Highway. It sits directly across the street from the ocean.

We wanted to sit outside on the patio with its amazing ocean front view but it was too crowded. Instead, we ate at a nice window table inside.

The menu choices featured mainly seafood items but they also included such classics as burgers and salads.

My brother and I selected the Smoked Cheddar Cheeseburger - a USDA angus sirloin burger with lettuce, raw onions, tomato, and smokey cheddar cheese on a gigantic asiago sesame seed bun roll slathered with a sweet and tangy mayonnaise. The tasty mayo and gourmet bun made the entire burger.

My mom and dad ordered Fish Tacos - corn tortillas stuffed with lightly breaded fish, served with cabbage, onions, cilantro with a side of spicy cream sauce and homemade salsa. It too was a large portion like the hamburger. They raved that the fish was extremely fresh and nicely seasoned.

We ended our meals with the Ice Cream & Oregon Berries dessert.
If you love berries, then this is your heaven! Decked with strawberries, blueberries, red rasberries, sautéed in Grand Mariner, and topped with ice cream and whip cream for the finishing touch. We were glad we decided to share this dessert because just like the lunch entrees it was huge. Although we were all stuffed from lunch, it tasted so fresh and sweet that we finished every last bite.

We would definitely recommended a pit stop to Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill on a trip up or down the West coast.  In fact, it's good enough to make a trip just to eat there.
